No Time is Better than Now.
"Accuracy is what we care here about in CNN." - Anderson Cooper
This is what I know is ACCURATE. Not caring and reacting to the wrong things we see around us makes us part of this bigger and never ending problem. We say, let’s remain positive, spread hope, and be sensitive. Now is the best time to help than to criticize. I believe otherwise.
No TIME is better than NOW.
A huge part of being sensitive is accepting the need for things to change. This problem is far greater than those ravaged homes, dead people, hungry and orphan families who only seek hope and comfort. But then, how do we define genuine hope and real comfort? After this dreary catastrophe, when all smoke has cleared up, what have we made out of this experience? What have we become?
We take pride of our resiliency. We smile amidst despair and grief. For me, true resiliency is making oneself, others, this country a more DIGNIFIED one. If we won’t, WE ARE part of the problem. Let’s not wait another Yolanda, another PDAF Scam, another 7.2 Bohol Earthquake, another Ondoy, Pablo to cure our damage culture.
They say, go to Tacloban and see for yourself to understand the real situation. I say, travel around the world, see for yourself, go back to your country, REFLECT… only then you can fully understand this BIGGER, never ending problem.
I may be a small voice, my actions and donations may help limited people. But today, I know, writing this, I did something greater for my country, the Philippines.
